The number is enough
For many models, Kaba, JPM or Iseo for example, the number engraved on the key is enough to order it.
Enter your key number: we find your model among 415 keys from 32 brands. The original key is made by the manufacturer’s factory, after La Clé du 16, a locksmith in Paris 16th, has checked your order.
Can’t find your key? Send us a photo of the key, and of the card if you have it: we will identify the model.
Type the number engraved on the key, or choose the brand and then the model.
Enter the number and, if the model requires it, add a photo of the ownership card. Payment is secure.
Once checked, the factory makes the key and ships it to you: within 8 working days for most models.

Security keys are protected: depending on the model, the number is enough or the ownership card is required. Each product page states exactly what to provide.
For many models, Kaba, JPM or Iseo for example, the number engraved on the key is enough to order it.
Patented keys are ordered with a photo of the ownership card, or of the security certificate for Vachette: only its holder can get a copy.
Depending on the model: an ownership form with ID and proof of address, a sample key or a new card. A few keys, such as the Bricard X40 or the Fichet F3D, are never copied without the card: the cylinder must then be replaced, see lock change in Paris.
It covers every key in the cart, whatever the brand and model: for example one master key and three flat keys.

La Clé du 16 is not an anonymous platform: it is a Paris 16th locksmith that orders your key from the manufacturer and follows the order until delivery.
Usually it is engraved on the key head: a series of letters and digits. It also appears on the ownership card supplied with the lock. For some patented keys, it is only printed on the card.
It depends on the model. Many keys can be ordered with the number alone. For patented keys, an ownership form with ID and proof of address, a sample key or a new card can replace the card. A few models, such as the Bricard X40, the Fichet F3D or the Abus Mintus, are never copied without the card: the cylinder must be replaced.
8 working days for most models, 21 working days for some brands such as Fichet or Héraclès, and up to 8 weeks for a few Cisa models. The exact lead time is shown on each product page; it starts once your order is validated.
Yes: it is an original key, made by the manufacturer from your combination number, just like the keys supplied with your cylinder.
A key made to your number cannot be returned or exchanged. Check the number before confirming: on the product page, a message tells you whether its shape matches the chosen model. If in doubt, send us a photo of the key.
From 2 keys in the cart the price drops by 5%, and from 4 keys by 10%. The discount is applied automatically, across all brands and models.
A master key opens several locks in the same master key system, for example a building’s shared doors as well as a flat’s door. It has its own number and is ordered from the model’s page: choose the Master key type.
Send a photo of the key, and of the card if you have it: we identify the model and send you the link to the right page.
