Locksmith in Paris 2, from the Bourse to the Sentier

The 2nd is the smallest arrondissement in Paris, and one of the busiest: workshops and start-ups in the Sentier, offices around the Bourse, shops on rue Montorgueil, covered passages. Our locksmiths come out here 24/7, to homes and business premises alike, and give you the price before they set off. A daytime door opening starts at €119 incl. VAT.

Gaillon, Vivienne, Mail, Bonne-Nouvelle

These are the arrondissement’s four administrative quarters. In less than one square kilometre, rue de la Paix, the Bourse, the Sentier and the Grands Boulevards sit side by side, all the way to porte Saint-Denis.

Gaillon, from rue de la Paix to avenue de l’Opéra

Jewellers on rue de la Paix, head offices and professional firms on avenue de l’Opéra: the quarter comes alive mainly during the week. For offices, we come early in the morning or once the staff have left; for the flats on the upper floors, at any hour.

Vivienne, the Bourse and the covered passages

Around the palais Brongniart and the Bibliothèque nationale, on rue de Richelieu, the old buildings house offices and homes. The galerie Vivienne, the galerie Colbert and the passage des Panoramas close in the evening: for a shop in one of the passages, let the manager know so they can open the gate for us.

  • Rue de Richelieu
  • Place de la Bourse
  • Rue des Petits-Champs
  • Galerie Vivienne
  • Passage des Panoramas
  • Rue Feydeau

The Mail quarter, around rue Montorgueil

Between place des Victoires and rue Montorgueil, a pedestrian street lined with the stalls of greengrocers, fishmongers and pastry shops, the small old buildings are home to many young professionals and flatshares. When a flatmate moves out, a new cylinder saves you any nasty surprises.

Bonne-Nouvelle and the Sentier

Agencies in former garment workshops, start-ups and showrooms share the floors of rue du Sentier, rue de Cléry and the streets around place du Caire. Office doors, stockroom doors, shop shutters: we handle them all, and also repair the quarter’s metal shutters.

Call-outs in the 2nd, at the office and at home

An office door slammed shut with the pass and keys inside, a key broken in a workshop lock on a Friday evening, a flat double-locked when you get back from dinner on rue Montorgueil: our locksmiths come out at any hour. The Sentier’s buildings, with their narrow staircases and many doors on each landing, hold no secrets for them.

For businesses, the invoice can be made out in the company’s name. You are given the price incl. VAT before the locksmith sets off.

After office hours

In the evening, from 8pm to midnight, expect to pay 30% more than the daytime rate, and 50% more after midnight. No surcharge on Saturdays and Sundays.

Offices and workshops: locks designed for a team

In shared premises, the question is not just how strong the lock is, but also who has the key. We fit doors in the 2nd with cylinders suited to the way a team works.

A single key for the entrance, the office and the stockroom, or different keys for different people: it all depends on how the premises are organised. The options are set out on our lock change in Paris 2 page. For the entrance door itself, we can fit an office security door, with a free quote.

Locksmith in the 2nd: frequently asked questions

An unusual situation? Describe it to us on the phone: we’ll tell you straight away what can be done.

Can you come before our staff arrive?

Yes: to change a lock or open a door in your offices, we can come early in the morning, in the evening or at the weekend. When you call, tell us who will let us into the building and open the carriage gate.

The covered passages close in the evening: how do you reach a shop inside one?

When the passage gate is closed, the manager or the caretaker has to let us in. Let them know, or give us their contact details: we coordinate with them before setting off.

Security door stuck at the office: how much do you charge to open it?

Slammed shut, €129 incl. VAT during the day; locked, €149. For a standard door slammed shut, allow €119. In the evening and at night, the surcharge is given with the price, before we set off.

Lost keys to business premises: do all the locks need changing?

Not necessarily: if the lost keys had no address or company name on them, changing the cylinder on the main door is often enough. If they opened several doors, we change the cylinders concerned, preferably keyed alike. It is all explained on our lock change in Paris 2 page.

Can you invoice in the company’s name?

Yes, with a breakdown of parts, labour and VAT. Give us the company’s registered name and billing address when you call or on site.

Do you make duplicate keys for a whole team?

Yes, for security keys from the main brands: order them on our key copying page, with the card of ownership if the key is protected. For a large team, a protected key lets you keep track of every copy.
