Four neighbourhoods, from boulevard Haussmann to Pigalle

Saint-Georges, Chaussée-d’Antin, Faubourg-Montmartre and Rochechouart: a compact arrondissement, densely packed with offices, theatres and shops, where we work at every address.

Saint-Georges and the Nouvelle Athènes

Restoration-era town houses, the buildings on place Saint-Georges, the artists’ studios of square d’Orléans: the Nouvelle Athènes still has its old doors, often moulded, which shift with age and damp. Here, a sticking lock often just needs adjusting, not replacing.

  • Place Saint-Georges
  • Rue Notre-Dame-de-Lorette
  • Rue de La Rochefoucauld
  • Rue Taitbout
  • Rue Blanche
  • Rue Chaptal
  • Rue Victor-Massé
  • Rue Frochot

Chaussée-d’Antin, from the Opéra to La Trinité

Around the Opéra Garnier, the department stores and the church of La Trinité, the Haussmann-era buildings mostly house offices, banks and professional firms. Here we change office locks, open up premises in the morning and secure entrances after an attempted break-in.

  • Boulevard Haussmann
  • Rue de la Chaussée-d’Antin
  • Rue de Provence
  • Rue La Fayette
  • Rue Saint-Lazare
  • Rue de Mogador
  • Rue Auber
  • Place d’Estienne-d’Orves

Faubourg-Montmartre, from the Grands Boulevards to Cadet

Passage Jouffroy and passage Verdeau, the Hôtel Drouot, the Folies Bergère, rue Cadet and its stalls: the area is alive by day and by night. Shopkeepers, entertainment venues and residents call us for a door, a lock or a metal shutter.

  • Rue du Faubourg-Montmartre
  • Rue Cadet
  • Rue Drouot
  • Rue Richer
  • Rue de Trévise
  • Boulevard Montmartre
  • Rue Geoffroy-Marie

Rochechouart, from Trudaine to square d’Anvers

Between avenue Trudaine and boulevard de Rochechouart, large apartment buildings built to let line quiet streets, a stone’s throw from Pigalle. The cité Napoléon, on rue Rochechouart, was one of the first workers’ housing estates in Paris. In these buildings, the original front doors can be reinforced without changing their look.

North of boulevard de Clichy and boulevard de Rochechouart, the 18th begins: see our locksmith Paris 18 page.

Locks in the 9th: adjust, replace, secure

In the 9th’s older buildings, many locks wear out before they break: a stiff key, a bolt that rubs, a door you have to pull to close. We start with an adjustment, and only replace what is worn.

When replacement is unavoidable, we fit a high-security cylinder or an A2P-certified multipoint lock. The warning signs of a fault, and the adjustments that can be made, are explained on our lock change in Paris 9 page.

Day to day in the 9th: your questions

Another question? The simplest thing is to call us.

Do I need to come to your office?

No: our office, in western Paris, is not open to customers; our locksmiths come to you, anywhere in the 75009, from the Opéra to Pigalle and from La Trinité to rue de Maubeuge.

Do you work in offices and shops on the Grands Boulevards?

Yes: opening premises, changing locks after an employee leaves, repairing a shop’s metal shutter. For shops, see also our metal shutter repair in Paris 9 page.

My door hasn’t closed properly since the winter: does the lock need replacing?

Not necessarily. In older buildings, the wood moves with the damp and the door shifts out of line: adjusting the striking plate or the hinges is often enough. We check before suggesting a replacement.

How much does it cost to open a door slammed shut during the day?

€119 incl. VAT during the day, weekends included. For an ordinary locked door, allow €135. After 8 pm, the surcharge is confirmed to you by phone.

Can a moulded door be reinforced without spoiling its character?

Yes: with reinforcement fitted on the inside face, the landing side and its mouldings remain visible. An A2P-certified multipoint lock completes the reinforcement, available from €2,690 incl. VAT.

Do you work with building managers and caretakers?

Yes: for the door of a communal room, a caretaker’s lodge or a cellar, we work at the request of the building manager or the residents’ council, based on a quote, and the invoice is made out to the co-ownership.
