Bricard ownership card: what you need to provide

Of the 20 Bricard models, 9 can be ordered with the key number alone. For the other 11, a photo of the ownership card is required: it proves that you may have the key copied. Without the card, depending on the model, a signed form with your documents, a sample key or a new card lets you order.

What to provide, model by model:

  • Number only: Alpha, Astral, Bloctout, Chifral sans mobile, Medial, Serial S, Supersureté à bille, Supersureté sans bille and Transal
  • Ownership card or a new card: Chifral à mobile, Dual XP Twin S, Dual XP Twin S2, Octal and Serial XP
  • Ownership card or signed form and documents: Boreal, Mistral S, Serial Bipass and Spectral
  • Card mandatory: Chifral S2 Twin and X40

For a Chifral à mobile or a Chifral S2 Twin, the factory supplies an X40 key with exactly the same functions.

Without the card, these models are never copied: Bricard Chifral S2 Twin, Bricard X40. The cylinder must then be replaced: lock change in Paris.

Where to find a Bricard key number

The number is engraved on the key head or printed on the ownership card supplied with the lock. For some models it only appears on the card: this is stated in the model list. Type it into the search at the top of the page to find your model.

How to recognise a Bricard key from its number:

  • CBN, DBN, EBN, LBN or Z at the start, or GP at the end: Astral
  • 1 letter + ZR + 7 digits: X40 or Chifral S2 Twin
  • 1 letter + 5 digits + AH: Serial S or Serial XP
  • 1 letter + 5 digits + AR, or 6 digits + AR: Medial
  • 1 letter + 5 digits + ER: Transal
  • 1 letter + 7 digits + ZW: Chifral sans mobile
  • 1 letter + PAB + digits: Dual XP Twin or Mistral S
  • B + 4 or 5 digits + 5 or 6 digits: Supersureté à bille
  • U + 4 digits + 1 letter + 2 digits: Boreal
  • 1 letter + 4 digits: Octal or Spectral

On a Bricard master key, the number contains PP or PG.
