Emergency locksmith in the 17th, at any hour

A door that slams shut behind you on avenue de Wagram, keys left at the office on a Friday evening, a lock damaged after an attempted break-in on rue Legendre: one call is enough, day or night. The 17th borders the 16th, where our office is.

On the phone, tell us whether the door is a standard door or a security door, and whether it is a double door, as is common in the area’s Haussmann-era buildings. You are given the price incl. VAT before the locksmith sets off.

8 pm to midnight: +30% on the daytime rate. After midnight: +50%. No surcharge at weekends.

The 17th, neighbourhood by neighbourhood

Four administrative neighbourhoods make up the 17th, from place de l’Étoile to Porte de Saint-Ouen. We work at every 75017 address within them, as well as in the neighbouring towns.

Ternes, from the Étoile to Porte Maillot

Around place des Ternes and avenue de Wagram, 19th-century apartment buildings house offices, professional practices and family flats, often behind large wooden doors. Rue Poncelet and rue Bayen have their food shops: we work for both, right up to the Palais des Congrès.

  • Avenue des Ternes
  • Place des Ternes
  • Avenue de Wagram
  • Rue Poncelet
  • Rue Bayen
  • Avenue Niel
  • Avenue Mac-Mahon
  • Boulevard Gouvion-Saint-Cyr

Plaine-Monceau

The neighbourhood of late 19th-century private mansions and the large flats of place Pereire. Double front doors, service doors, doors over 2.10 m tall: we reinforce them without touching the mouldings and fit locks made for their height.

  • Boulevard Malesherbes
  • Avenue de Villiers
  • Boulevard Pereire
  • Place Pereire
  • Rue de Prony
  • Rue de Courcelles
  • Place du Général-Catroux
  • Rue Jouffroy-d’Abbans

Batignolles and Clichy-Batignolles

The old village still has its square, the church of Sainte-Marie and place Lobligeois; to the north, the parc Martin-Luther-King and the Clichy-Batignolles district, around the Tribunal de Paris, have added some very recent buildings. In these new homes, changing the cylinder after moving in is still a wise precaution.

  • Rue des Batignolles
  • Place du Docteur-Félix-Lobligeois
  • Rue des Dames
  • Rue Legendre
  • Rue des Moines
  • Rue Cardinet
  • Boulevard Berthier
  • Avenue de Clichy

Épinettes and Porte de Saint-Ouen

More working-class, the neighbourhood mixes small faubourg-style buildings, workshops and the houses of the Cité des Fleurs, a private lane lined with gardens. Along boulevard Bessières, 1930s brick buildings complete the picture. For the shops on avenue de Saint-Ouen, we also repair metal shutters.

  • Avenue de Saint-Ouen
  • Rue Guy-Môquet
  • Rue de la Jonquière
  • Rue Pouchet
  • Cité des Fleurs
  • Boulevard Bessières

The 17th borders three towns in the Hauts-de-Seine: we also work in Levallois-Perret, Clichy and Neuilly-sur-Seine.

Double doors and tall doors: door reinforcement in the 17th

In Plaine-Monceau and Ternes, many entrances have a double door or a door over 2.10 m tall. We reinforce them on site, or replace them with a made-to-measure security door, with two leaves if needed.

On a double door, reinforcement strengthens both leaves, with a multipoint lock on the main leaf. Picard’s double-leaf security door, the Diamant double vantaux, is A2P BP1 certified. Either way, we come to measure the door and price the job, free of charge.

The doors we reinforce in the 17th

  • Haussmann-era double door: both leaves reinforced, mouldings kept on the landing side.
  • Service door: often overlooked, it deserves the same protection as the main entrance.
  • Extra-tall door: reinforcement or a made-to-measure door, with a suitable lock.

Locks for tall doors and double doors

A 2.40 m door does not lock like a standard one: the lock has to secure it along its full height. We fit models suited to the tall doors of buildings in the 17th, and change cylinders of every brand.

For a simple cylinder change after losing your keys, allow from €90 incl. VAT. The case of new-build homes in Clichy-Batignolles is covered in detail on our lock change in Paris 17 page.

Locksmith in Paris 17: the questions people ask us

Your situation isn’t listed here? Describe it over the phone and we’ll answer straight away.

Is your office far from the 17th?

No: it is in the 16th, the neighbouring arrondissement. It is not open to the public; our locksmiths come to you, anywhere in 75017, from Ternes to Porte de Saint-Ouen.

Can you open a double security door?

Yes. On a double door, the semi-fixed leaf is bolted at the top and bottom; we open through the main leaf, without damaging the mouldings in most cases. Opening a locked security door costs €149 incl. VAT during the day.

Can a locksmith come out on a Sunday or at night?

Yes, we work 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Sundays are charged at the daytime rate; in the evening and at night a surcharge applies, stated with the price before we set off.

Do you work for practices and offices in the 17th?

Yes: to change a lock after a member of staff leaves, to secure a door or for an urgent door opening. We can come outside your opening hours.

Do you cover Levallois and Clichy?

Yes, just across the Périphérique: see our locksmith in Levallois-Perret and locksmith in Clichy pages.

How can I tell if my lock is A2P-certified?

The A2P logo, followed by one to three stars, is engraved on the lock’s faceplate or on the face of the cylinder. Without this logo, the lock is not certified. If in doubt, send us a photo.
