One key for several doors
When several cylinders are ordered together on the same combination, one key opens them all: these are known as “keyed-alike” cylinders. The entrance, the office and the stockroom can then all be locked with a single key.
For this, the locks must take cylinders of the same type, which is the case for most locks with a Euro profile or round cylinder. For a team, you can go further: each person opens only the doors that concern them, and a master key opens them all. We look at how the premises are organised before placing the order. For a flat or another type of door, see our lock change in Paris page.
To prepare the order
- Count the doors: entrance, offices, stockroom, cellar, bike store.
- Photograph each lock: with the door open, from the front and from the side.
- List the people: who needs to open which doors, and how many keys to allow for.

Several locks to change? Send us photos of them
One photo per door is all we need to identify the cylinders and prepare a combined order, with the price before we come.
Hello, we’re an agency on rue de Cléry: we’d like a single key for the entrance and the two offices. Photos attached.
Hello! Your three locks take Euro profile cylinders: we can order them keyed alike. I’ll send you the quote today.
Perfect, thanks, we’ll look out for it.
- Photograph each lock, with the door open if possible.
- Add the number of keys you need and the address of the premises.
- Receive a priced proposal before you confirm.
One key for several doors: your questions
One set of premises, several doors, several brands? Describe the situation to us and we’ll suggest a solution.
My locks are different brands: is it still possible?
Often, yes, if they take cylinders of the same format: it is the cylinder that carries the combination, not the lock. When a lock does not accept that format, we suggest replacing it, or keeping a separate key for that door.
What is a master key system?
It is the way the keys for a single site are organised: each key opens a set of doors defined in advance, and a master key can open them all. For an office of a few people, keyed-alike cylinders are often enough.
What budget should I allow for new cylinders?
A high-security Euro profile cylinder starts at €90 incl. VAT. For several keyed-alike cylinders, the price depends on the model and the number of keys: we give you a quote before ordering.
If an employee loses their key, does everything have to be changed?
With keyed-alike cylinders, the lost key opens every door in the set: so the whole set has to be changed, or at least the cylinders on sensitive doors. With a master key system, only the doors that key opens are affected. It is something to plan for when you order.
