Locked out without your keys, somewhere in the 20th?

Door slammed shut while popping out for bread on rue des Pyrénées, keys lost on the steps of the parc de Belleville, a lock that breaks on a Sunday evening: tell us where you are and we’ll come. You are given the price before the locksmith sets off, and the invoice is handed to you on the spot.

Belleville and Ménilmontant have their stairways and courtyards: tell us the building, the staircase and the floor, so we don’t lose time looking.

In the evening and at night

The daytime rate applies until 8 pm; it goes up by 30% until midnight, then by 50% at night. At weekends, daytime prices stay the same.

These four names are the official quarters of the 20th. We cover every 75020 address within them, from the top of Belleville to Porte de Bagnolet and Porte de Montreuil.

Belleville, from the park to the sloping streets

Around the parc de Belleville, with its view over the whole of Paris, the streets climb between old buildings, artists’ studios and the painted walls of rue Dénoyez. Many buildings have neither a lift nor a caretaker: for a door opening, give us the door code and the staircase.

Saint-Fargeau, towards Porte des Lilas

For an elderly parent: a simple lock and keys in the right hands

A key that has to be forced, a set of keys given to too many people, a door opened to anyone at all: as a loved one gets older, a few simple changes make the door easier to live with and safer.

We replace a cylinder that has become stiff so the key turns effortlessly, fit a door restrictor so the door can be opened without letting anyone in, or a keypad lock so home carers can get in without a key. Each solution is set out, one by one, on our lock change in Paris 20 page.

Door reinforcement, security door: what your insurer looks at

After a burglary, or simply when rereading your policy, you find that your insurer expects a door and a lock of a certain standard. We fit both options: reinforcement of your door with a certified multipoint lock, or an A2P-certified security door.

The invoice and certification documents we hand over are the ones an insurer may ask for. The details, model by model, are on our security door in Paris 20 page.

Belleville, Charonne, Gambetta: your questions

A different situation? Our phone is answered day and night.

How much does a door opening cost in the 20th?

A door slammed shut: €119 incl. VAT during the day, and €129 if it is a security door. If it is locked, expect to pay more; you are told the amount before the locksmith sets off.

My father struggles to turn his key: what can I do?

A worn cylinder or a badly adjusted strike plate makes a key hard to turn. We adjust the lock or change the cylinder; a keypad lock is another option. Our lock change in Paris 20 page explains these solutions in detail.

Can you work in a building without a lift?

Of course: most of the old buildings in Belleville and Ménilmontant don’t have one. For a security door, carrying it up to the top floor is planned in advance.

What does the insurer ask for after a burglary?

Generally, a police report, a claim made within the time limit set by your policy, and the invoice for the repairs. We give you a detailed invoice for the work. See also our security door in Paris 20 page.

Do you make key copies for the family?

Yes, for security keys, on presentation of the card of ownership: it is what allows us to check that only the cardholders order copies. Orders are placed on our key copying page.
