Four neighbourhoods, from Bercy to Porte Dorée

Bercy, Quinze-Vingts, Picpus and Bel-Air are the 12th’s four administrative quarters: we work at every address in 75012, whether a flat, an office or a shop.

Quinze-Vingts, from the Bastille to the Gare de Lyon

The neighbourhood takes its name from the Quinze-Vingts hospital, on rue de Charenton. Around the Marché d’Aligre and under the vaults of the Viaduc des Arts, workshops and shops mingle with faubourg-style buildings, many with old doors. Near the Gare de Lyon, we also help travellers who come back without their keys.

Bercy, from the wine warehouses to the park

The old wine warehouses have given way to the parc de Bercy, Bercy Village and residential blocks built in the 1990s, with underground car parks and cellars. In these buildings, the original front door has a multipoint lock whose cylinder we change after keys are lost; in the basement, we fit cellar security doors.

Picpus and Daumesnil

Around place Félix-Éboué and its lion fountain, the dressed-stone buildings of avenue Daumesnil stand alongside the more modest ones of rue de Picpus and rue Claude-Decaen. Grand front doors on one side, simpler doors on the other: we match the lock or the reinforcement to each.

Bel-Air, towards Porte Dorée

On the edge of the bois de Vincennes, the neighbourhood mixes brick buildings along boulevard Soult, quiet streets around rue du Rendez-Vous and the Palais de la Porte Dorée. Family homes, small residential blocks, shops on cours de Vincennes: we come out here by day and by night.

Front door and cellar door: both matter

In buildings in the 12th, people are quick to reinforce the door of their flat and forget the cellar, closed with a plank door and a padlock. Yet a cellar can be forced with no one looking. We deal with both: reinforcement or a security door for the entrance, a cellar security door in the basement.

The L’ÉCO cellar door, by Valente Securystar, is made to measure, with an A2P-certified three-point lock. For the flat, the choice between door reinforcement and a security door depends on the condition of the door: we make that choice with you, on site. Full details are on the security door in Paris 12 page.

What we secure

  • The front door: on-site reinforcement or a certified security door.
  • The cellar door: a security door in place of the padlock.
  • The bike room: a security cylinder, with the approval of the building manager (syndic).

Lost keys, jammed door: our emergency call-outs in the 12th

Arriving back at the Gare de Lyon after a weekend away without your keys, a door slammed shut as you head out for a run in the bois de Vincennes, a lock that won’t turn on a concert night at Bercy: call us, whatever the time. A locksmith calls you back to understand the situation and tells you the price before setting off.

Give us the exact address, the floor and how to get into the building; a photo of the lock helps us come with the right part.

Rates by time of day

In the evening, from 8 pm to midnight, the daytime rate goes up by 30%; at night, by 50%. Saturdays and Sundays during the day: no surcharge.

Locksmith Paris 12: questions and answers

An unusual situation? Describe it to us over the phone, day or night.

I’ve left my keys inside: how much to open the door?

€119 incl. VAT during the day for a door that has simply slammed shut, €129 for a security door slammed shut. If it is locked, the price is higher; we always quote it over the phone.

Should you reinforce a cellar door?

A wooden cellar door closed with a padlock can be forced in moments, with no one watching. If you keep bikes, wine or valuables there, a cellar security door offers far better protection. See our security door in Paris 12 page.

Do you work in Bercy’s residential blocks?

Yes, as everywhere in the 12th. These buildings often have fob-access entrance halls and underground car parks: tell us how to get into the building, and the cellar number if the job involves it.

Do you come out on Sundays, market day in Aligre?

Yes, 7 days a week. Sunday daytime is charged at the weekday rate; only evenings and nights carry a surcharge.

Can you make the front door and the cellar open with the same key?

Often, if both locks take the same cylinder model: we order them keyed alike, so that a single key opens both. One less key to carry, and only one to keep track of.

Can you open a cellar whose key has been lost?

Yes: we open the door, then change the cylinder or replace the padlock. If the cellar door is flimsy, it’s a good time to consider a security door.
