The cellar security door

A cellar is often closed with a plank door and a padlock, at the end of a corridor where no one passes. The L’ÉCO security cellar door, by Valente Securystar, replaces all this with a made-to-measure steel door set, with an A2P-certified three-point lock.

Before fitting, we measure the opening, often irregular in vaulted cellars, and check the masonry that will take the frame. In recent residential blocks, we check that the storage unit can take a solid door. The price depends on the dimensions: it is shown on the quote, which is free.

Why secure the cellar

  • It can be forced quietly: no one goes down to the basement at night.
  • It often holds equipment: bikes, tools, bottles.
  • It is out of sight: a break-in can go unnoticed for days.

The 12th, from cellar to landing

Old buildings, 1930s blocks, recent residential complexes: the security door and the cellar door are chosen to suit the building.

The Faubourg and Quinze-Vingts

Faubourg buildings with wooden doors that are often original: reinforcement strengthens them without replacing them, and the vaulted cellars take a made-to-measure security door.

  • Rue de Charenton
  • Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine
  • Rue Traversière
  • Rue de Prague

Avenue Daumesnil

Haussmann-era and interwar buildings: large front doors, often with a service door alongside. A BP2-certified door, such as the Picard Diamant 20, suits these entrances well.

  • Avenue Daumesnil
  • Boulevard de Reuilly
  • Rue de Reuilly
  • Place Félix-Éboué

Bercy and Cour Saint-Émilion

1990s residential blocks: their original front doors are lighter, and the Picard Diamant 10 replaces them with A2P BP1 certification. In the basement, cellar units with a solid door can take a security door.

  • Rue de Pommard
  • Rue de l’Ambroisie
  • Cour Saint-Émilion
  • Rue Joseph-Kessel

Bel-Air and Porte Dorée

Family homes in brick buildings: reinforcing the existing door gives good protection here at a reasonable cost, and a cellar security door completes the set-up.

  • Boulevard Soult
  • Avenue de Saint-Mandé
  • Rue du Sahel
  • Cours de Vincennes

Security doors and cellar doors: your questions

For the cellar, a photo of the opening with a tape measure extended helps us prepare the quote.

Does a cellar security door need the building manager’s approval?

The cellar is private, but it lies in a communal basement. Depending on the co-ownership rules, you may simply need to give notice or you may need permission: check with the building manager (syndic) before ordering.

Which security door for a flat in the 12th?

It all depends on the building: BP1 for solid first-level protection, BP2 for a more exposed door, BP3 for the highest level of A2P certification. We advise you on site, after seeing the door and the landing.

What budget should I allow for a security door in the 12th?

Allow €3,650 incl. VAT for a Picard Diamant 10, BP1-certified. The other models, door reinforcement and the cellar door have their starting prices in the table above; the quote sets the exact price.

Can a cellar door be fitted in a vaulted cellar?

Yes: the frame is adapted to the opening, even an irregular one, after precise measuring. It is something we always check on site before confirming the order.
