The 13th has four administrative quarters, from the Seine to the Porte d’Italie. We work in all of them, in tower blocks and small houses alike, whatever the time.

La Gare, from the Olympiades to the Bibliothèque

Paris Rive Gauche has changed the face of the quarter: avenue de France, the Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand, universities and new buildings along the quays. Further south are the Olympiades towers and the Asian shops of avenue d’Ivry. Here, most front doors have a multipoint lock: after losing your keys, a new cylinder is usually enough.

La Salpêtrière, from Austerlitz to Saint-Marcel

Around the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital and the Gare d’Austerlitz, large late-19th-century buildings line boulevard de l’Hôpital and boulevard Saint-Marcel. The front doors here are tall and often original; door reinforcement strengthens them while keeping their mouldings.

Croulebarbe and the Gobelins

Near the Manufacture des Gobelins and the square René-Le Gall, the quarter keeps a quiet feel, between stone buildings and renovated workers’ housing. Many doors here still close with a single-point lock: moving up to three points is often the first thing we recommend.

Maison-Blanche and the Butte-aux-Cailles

On the Butte, the cobbled streets, the houses of the Cité florale and the bars of rue de la Butte-aux-Cailles make up a village. Further down, towards place d’Italie and the Porte d’Italie, large housing estates take over. Houses or flats, we open and secure every door.

Lost keys or a door slammed shut in the 13th

A door slammed shut on your way down to the bakery on rue Bobillot, keys left in a locker at the Bibliothèque, a bunch of keys lost along with your building’s entry fob: we come out at any hour, anywhere in the 13th.

In a tower block, tell us the building, the floor and how to get in (caretaker, door code, fob). We give you the price incl. VAT as soon as you call.

After 8 pm

The daytime rate goes up by 30% between 8 pm and midnight, then by 50% after that. No weekend surcharge.

Locks and cylinders in the 13th

The euro profile cylinder of a 1990s residential block, the three-point lock in a tower, the surface-mounted lock of a building on the Butte: we change what needs changing, and only that.

Lost or stolen keys? Changing just the cylinder is often enough; when the lock is worn or has been forced, we replace it entirely. Both cases are explained on our lock change in Paris 13 page.

Do you cover the Olympiades towers?

Yes, every tower in the 13th. When you call, tell us the name of the tower and how to get in: whether it is via the raised esplanade, the car park or the lobby, access is not always obvious.

My bag was stolen with my keys and address in it: what should I do?

Have the cylinder changed as soon as possible: with your address, those keys open your door. Report the theft to the police, notify your insurer, and keep the locksmith’s invoice for your claim.

Do you change the locks on cellars and lock-up garages?

Yes: locks for cellars, bike storage rooms and lock-up garages. In the residential blocks of the 13th, these access points are often the first to be broken into; if break-ins keep happening, we offer the L’ÉCO security cellar door, by Valente Securystar.

Do you come out to the Butte-aux-Cailles in the middle of the night?

Yes, at any hour, weekends included. The Butte’s narrow streets can be hard to reach by car: give us a nearby junction as a landmark so we can find you.

How much does it cost to open a door slammed shut?

It costs €119 incl. VAT during the day, Monday to Sunday. If it is locked, opening a standard door costs €135. After 8 pm, you are told the higher rate as soon as you call.

Is your office in the 13th?

No, it is in western Paris, and is not open to the public. Our locksmiths, on the other hand, come to you anywhere in 75013, from the Seine quays to the Porte d’Italie.
