Lost or stolen: what difference it makes
Keys lost with nothing to link them to your address do not carry the same risk as keys stolen with your ID. In the first case, the change can wait for an appointment; in the second, it is best not to leave it overnight.

Cylinder only or the whole lock?
The cylinder is the part the key goes into; the lock is the mechanism that bolts the door. After losing your keys, changing the cylinder is enough in most cases: the door stays as it is, and only the old keys become useless.
The whole lock is replaced when it is worn, when it has been forced, or when you want a higher level of security, such as an A2P-certified lock. On site, we show you the condition of the lock before suggesting anything. The full picture is on our lock change in Paris page.

Should I report stolen keys to the police?
It is advisable, especially if your ID went missing with them: insurers often ask for proof of the police report before covering the lock change. Also keep the invoice we give you.
Does my insurance policy cover the new cylinder?
It depends on the policy: some cover lost or stolen keys, others only theft involving a break-in. Reread your policy or call your insurer before the job.
My building fob went missing with my keys: can you make a new one?
No: the building’s fobs and remote controls are handled by the building manager (syndic) or the caretaker, who can deactivate the old one and programme a new one. Let them know quickly; we take care of the door to your home.
How much does a new cylinder cost in the 13th?
A high-security euro profile cylinder starts at €90 incl. VAT, for a single-point lock. For a three-point lock, the table above gives the price of compatible cylinder sets by brand.
