Security door and door reinforcement in Paris 10
A door that has been broken open cannot always be repaired. In the 10th, after a break-in, we first secure your home, then, depending on the condition of the door and its frame, offer you door reinforcement or an A2P-certified security door. Free quote.

After the break-in: secure first, then rebuild
First of all, you need to be able to lock up again: we get the door closing again or fit a temporary lock-up. Only then comes the choice, made with a clear head, between reinforcing the existing door and a new security door.
If the door is split, if the frame has been torn from the wall or if the lock has burst through the wood, reinforcement would no longer have a sound base: a complete security door, with its own frame, is needed. If the door is still sound, reinforcement with a multipoint lock is often enough. Either way, the detailed invoice can be used for your insurance claim.
Our assessment, point by point
- The wood of the door: split or intact around the lock.
- The frame: still anchored in the wall, or pulled away.
- The hinges: bent or torn off by the force.

What the break-in left behind: our answers
Every forced door tells the story of the same night differently. Depending on the damage, the repair can be completely different: here is what we most often find in buildings in the 10th, and what we suggest.
- The door no longer closesDoor made to close again, or a temporary lock-up, at any hour.
- Frame pulled away from the wallThe frame no longer holds: a complete security door is needed.
- Wood split around the lockReinforcement has nothing left to grip: a new door is advised.
- Bent hingesStraightened or replaced, depending on the strain they took.
- Lock ripped outNew multipoint lock, fitted to a sound door.
- Door intact, cylinder destroyedA protected cylinder is often enough.
Forced door: your questions
Send us photos of the door and its frame: we’ll tell you whether reinforcement is still possible.
Can a door that has been forced be reinforced?
Yes, if the wood around the lock is sound and the frame is still firmly fixed to the wall. If the door is split or the frame torn out, a new security door, with its own frame, is the only solid solution.
What happens to my home while I wait for the new door?
The security door is made to measure, which takes a little time. In the meantime, your door is made to close again, or a temporary lock-up is fitted: your home is not left open.
Does insurance cover the new door?
That depends on your policy and the circumstances. Report the break-in to your insurer quickly, enclosing the police report and our invoices: the repairs, and sometimes the replacement of the door, may be covered. Your insurer may also ask for an A2P-certified door or lock.
Which security door should I choose for a building in the 10th?
In most of the old buildings in the faubourg or along the canal, an A2P BP1-certified door such as the Picard Diamant 10, from €3,650 incl. VAT, offers real resistance. On a ground floor, or after repeated attempts, a BP2 such as the Diamant 20 gives greater peace of mind.
