Security door and door reinforcement in Paris 6

A moulded oak door, the double door of a private mansion, the entrance to an apartment overlooking the Luxembourg: in the 6th, a security door must offer top-level protection without betraying the style of the entrance. We fit A2P BP3-certified doors, made to measure, after a free measuring visit.

A2P BP3: top of the range, made to measure

In A2P testing, a BP3 door has to withstand a burglar’s heavy tools for much longer than a BP1 or BP2 door. In the 6th, we offer it with finishes that echo those of the entrance: mouldings, colours, brass handles.

Depending on the original door and the frame, we offer a complete door, such as the Picard Diamant 30 or a made-to-measure Tordjman Métal door, or a Picard Diamant Tierce for double-leaf entrances. Each quote details the model, the finishes and the fitting.

What makes a high-end door

  • Certification: A2P BP3 for the door set, A2P*** for the lock.
  • Finishes: one for the landing side and one for the apartment side.
  • Fitting: frame anchored into the masonry, adjustments made on site.

The entrances of the 6th and their security doors

Private mansions, Haussmann-era buildings, studios: the security door is not designed the same way for every entrance.

Around the Jardin du Luxembourg

Large apartments with tall entrances, often with two leaves: the Picard Diamant Tierce, or reinforcing both leaves, keeps the entrance symmetrical.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Period doors in 17th- and 18th-century buildings: when the door is remarkable, we reinforce it; when it is worn out, a made-to-measure BP3 door can reproduce its mouldings.

Boulevard du Montparnasse and Vavin

Buildings from 1900 to the 1930s, some of them Art Deco: doors here have more regular dimensions, and a standard Picard Diamant 30, in the finish of your choice, is often suitable.

BP3 security doors: your questions

A photo of the entrance, with the door closed and then open, helps us prepare for the visit.

BP1, BP2, BP3: how do they differ?

By the resistance time measured during A2P testing: five minutes for BP1, ten for BP2, fifteen for BP3, against increasingly heavy tools. The BP3 class is intended for high-value interiors.

Is a BP3 door much heavier?

Yes, it is thicker and heavier than a standard door: its frame is therefore firmly anchored into the wall, and its hinges adjusted so that it stays smooth to open and close.

Does the frame need replacing?

For a complete security door, yes: the door set comes with its own frame, fixed into the masonry. It is this frame that gives the whole unit its strength.

How much does a BP3 door cost in the 6th?

The Picard Diamant 30 and the Fichet Spheris XP are listed in the table above with their starting prices. The exact amount depends on the dimensions, the finish and the options: it is set in the quote, after measuring.
