Security door and door reinforcement in Paris 16

Most of the security doors we fit in the 16th come from Picard Serrures, a French manufacturer based in the Vimeu, in Picardy. Moulded panels for Haussmann-era buildings, double doors, fire doors: we take the measurements at your home, and the quote costs you nothing.

Four kinds of entrance, four ways of fitting

The 16th has buildings from every period, from the Second Empire to the 1960s. A security door adapts to each of them, and sometimes reinforcing the existing door wins out.

Haussmann-era buildings in Passy and La Muette

Moulded front doors, often painted the colour of the stairwell: the decorative panel reproduces the mouldings, and the building’s co-owners keep the look they are used to.

Art Nouveau and Art Deco in Auteuil

Around Guimard’s Castel Béranger and rue Mallet-Stevens, some entrances are pieces of architecture in their own right. When the original door has to stay, we reinforce it rather than replace it.

Large flats in Chaillot

Between Iéna and avenue Kléber, double-leaf entrances are common. The Diamant Tierce, certified BP3, keeps the symmetry of a double door with just one lock to operate.

Apartment blocks around Porte Dauphine

Between avenue Foch and boulevard Lannes, apartment blocks from the 1950s and 1960s stand alongside private mansions. In these buildings, the front door often has to meet fire regulations: the Diamant EI30 does, as it is both a security door and a fire door.

Why we mainly fit Picard doors

The Diamant range covers all three levels of A2P certification, from BP1 to BP3, with the same finishes. You choose the resistance level first, then the finish: seen from the landing, the door looks the same.

Made in France, Picard doors are built to the dimensions of your doorway, which matters in older buildings where no two doors are quite the same size. On the landing side, a moulded panel follows the design of the original doors; on the flat side, the finish matches your entrance hall. We also fit other brands, Fichet in particular, if you prefer them.

Choosing in three questions

  • Which level? BP1 for an ordinary floor, BP2 or BP3 for a ground floor or an exposed flat.
  • Which finish? mouldings, wood, lacquer or a RAL colour, chosen from a colour chart.
  • Which doorway? single leaf, double leaf, or a fanlight to keep.

A Picard door in the 16th: your questions

The easiest way to start: a photo of the entrance, from the landing and from inside the flat.

Can the security door keep mouldings on the landing side?

Yes: Picard offers moulded decorative panels, and the design can be based on the other doors on your floor. We bring the colour chart and moulding samples when we come to take measurements.

What is the difference between BP1, BP2 and BP3?

It is how long the door resists a break-in attempt, as measured by the CNPP, which issues A2P certification: the higher the level, the longer the door holds out against tools. A Diamant 10 is certified BP1, a Diamant 20 BP2 and a Diamant 30 BP3.

How long does it take to make the door?

The door is made to measure once you order: the lead time depends on the model and finish chosen, and it is stated on the quote. Fitting itself takes one day, on the date agreed with you.

What happens to the old door?

We remove it and take it away on the day of fitting, along with the rubble. If the original door frame is sound, it can sometimes be kept and clad.
