Three-point lock: changing just the cylinders

In many buildings in the 15th, from the Beaugrenelle towers to the residential blocks of Javel, the front door closes with a three-point lock. When a key is lost, there is no need to change the whole lock: we replace its set of cylinders, and you get new keys.

For Vachette, Pollux, Picard Vigie or Mottura locks, we offer compatible cylinders that cost less than the original parts. On a single-point lock, a high-security Euro profile cylinder is enough. And if the lock itself is worn, we replace it entirely: the options are set out on our lock change in Paris page.

Before you call us

  • Look at the key: the brand is often engraved on it, as it is on the cylinder.
  • Take a photo: of the lock from the inside, with the door open if possible.
  • Renting? Keep the old cylinder and the invoice for when you move out.

Four areas of the 15th, four types of lock

From one end of the arrondissement to the other, the buildings change, and the locks with them. Here is what we come across.

Beaugrenelle and the Front de Seine

In the towers, the front door usually closes with a multipoint lock. After lost keys, we replace the set of cylinders without removing the lock; if it has been forced, we replace it with an A2P-certified model.

  • Rue Linois
  • Rue Émeriau
  • Rue Robert-de-Flers
  • Place Charles-Michels

Cambronne and La Motte-Picquet

Cut-stone buildings, wooden doors that are sometimes a century old: many still close with a surface-mounted lock. We replace it with a model of the same size, so as not to damage the door, or with a multipoint lock.

  • Rue Cambronne
  • Rue de la Croix-Nivert
  • Rue Mademoiselle
  • Avenue de La Motte-Picquet

Convention and Vaugirard

Around rue de la Convention, there are many buildings dating from the 1930s to the 1970s. Euro profile cylinders and three-point locks are common here: a cylinder change resolves most cases of lost keys.

  • Rue de la Convention
  • Rue Blomet
  • Rue Alain-Chartier
  • Rue de l’Abbé-Groult

Javel and the parc André-Citroën

In the residential blocks built around the park, we also change the locks on cellars and bike stores, which are frequent targets for thieves. When break-ins keep happening, a reinforced cellar door solves the problem for good.

  • Rue Balard
  • Rue Leblanc
  • Rue Cauchy
  • Rue de Javel

How much does a cylinder change cost in the 15th?

From €90 incl. VAT for a high-security Euro profile cylinder on a single-point lock. For a three-point lock, the price depends on the brand: the cylinder sets in the table above give you an idea. You are given the exact price before we come out.

Can I keep the lock and change only the cylinders?

Yes, as long as the lock works properly and has not been forced. You keep the lock and its locking points, with new keys. If the lock is worn or damaged, it is better to replace it entirely.

I rent: can I change the lock without my landlord’s consent?

Generally yes, as long as the change does not alter the door, which is the case with a simple cylinder change. Keep the old cylinder and the invoice, as your landlord may ask for it to be put back when you leave. For a multipoint lock that means drilling into the door, ask for their consent first.

My keys were stolen along with my ID: what should I do?

Change the cylinder straight away: with your address, the keys give access to your home. Report the theft at the police station, then notify your insurer, who may cover part of the cost depending on your policy. We give you a detailed invoice.
