Locksmith in the neighbourhoods of Colombes

The Seine borders Colombes to the north and west, opposite Argenteuil and Bezons; its other neighbours are Nanterre, La Garenne-Colombes, Bois-Colombes, Asnières-sur-Seine and Gennevilliers. The town has nine neighbourhood councils: Centre, Agent-Sarre, Fossés-Jean, Stade-Arc sportif, Europe, Grèves-Petit-Colombes, Victor-Basch, Vallées and Petite-Garenne.

The town centre, place de la République and rue Saint-Denis

The centre is organised around the town hall, opened in 1923 on place de la République, and rue Saint-Denis, which crosses the neighbourhood from east to west. Colombes station (line J) sits on a viaduct to the east of the centre, with its entrance on rue Saint-Denis and rue du Bournard running underneath. Here, the older buildings have often kept a wooden landing door with its original lock: if the key turns without catching, describe the lock to us and we bring the right cylinder or mechanism.

  • Rue Saint-Denis
  • Place de la République
  • Place du Général-Leclerc
  • Place Henri-Neveu
  • Rue du Bournard
  • Rue Beaurepaire
  • Rue du Maréchal-Joffre

The Vallées and the Petite-Garenne, the south and its houses

To the south, Les Vallées station (line L) lies on the boundary between Colombes, Bois-Colombes and La Garenne-Colombes; around it, five- and six-storey apartment blocks were built to let to employees who worked in Paris. Further west, the Petite-Garenne keeps many houses, on avenue des Vats or rue Léon-Bourgeois, near La Garenne-Colombes station. At a house, we open the front door just as readily as the garden gate or the garage door; tell us which one is stuck when you call.

From the stade Yves-du-Manoir to the towers of the Fossés-Jean

To the north, the stade Yves-du-Manoir, on rue François-Faber, hosted the 1924 Games, the 1938 World Cup final and the hockey at the 2024 Games; Le Stade station (line J) was opened for it. On rue Paul-Bert, Art Deco buildings date from the inter-war years; to the north-east, the Fossés-Jean neighbourhood lines up eighteen-storey towers built around 1970, on rue Jules-Michelet. In these towers, tell us the building, the floor and how to get in: intercom, fob or caretaker.

The Petit-Colombes and the Grèves, to the west, towards Nanterre

To the west, on the boundary with Nanterre, the Petit-Colombes is served by the T2 tram (Victor-Basch and Parc Pierre-Lagravère stops) and is home to the Louis-Mourier hospital, on rue des Renouillers. The neighbourhood is undergoing urban renewal: some social housing towers have been refurbished, others are due to be demolished, and new buildings are going up around square Victor-Basch and rue Champy. On the Seine side, the Grèves border the parc Pierre-Lagravère. For a door slammed shut in a landlord’s building, we open it without damage and replace the cylinder if necessary.

What a locksmith costs in Colombes

Reinforcing or replacing your door in Colombes

A quarter of the homes in Colombes are houses, and the apartment buildings range from the early 20th century, around the stations, to the 1970s towers of the Fossés-Jean. Depending on your door, we strengthen it on site with reinforcement, or we fit a Picard, Fichet or Tordjman Métal security door.

Measurements are taken at your home and the quote is free. To compare the options, see door reinforcement and our security doors.

Depending on your door

  • House in the Petite-Garenne or the Vallées: a made-to-measure security front door, or reinforcement of the existing wooden door, with an A2P-certified multipoint lock.
  • Flat in a tower or in a landlord’s building: depending on the building, a fire-rated door may be required; ask the building manager before choosing.
  • Older building in the centre, near place de la République: reinforcement fixes a steel sheet to the original door and keeps its appearance on the landing side; our installations are guaranteed for 5 years and Picard doors are guaranteed for 10 years.

Frequently asked questions about our locksmith in Colombes

Your situation isn’t listed? Call us and a locksmith will answer.

Do you come to every neighbourhood in Colombes?

Yes. Your locksmith in Colombes works in all nine neighbourhoods of the town: the Centre, Agent-Sarre, the Fossés-Jean, the Stade-Arc sportif, Europe, the Grèves and the Petit-Colombes, Victor-Basch, the Vallées and the Petite-Garenne. He leaves from the 16th arrondissement of Paris and comes to you day and night: there is no shop to call in at.

How much does a door opening cost in Colombes?

In the daytime, a door slammed shut is opened for €119 incl. VAT, a locked door for €135 and a locked security door for €149. From 8 pm to midnight, the rate is increased by 30%; after midnight, by 50%. At weekends, daytime rates apply. In every case, the price is given to you over the phone before we set off.

How do you get into the towers of the Fossés-Jean or the Petit-Colombes?

These buildings often have an entrance hall secured by an intercom or a fob, and sometimes a caretaker. When you call, give us the name of the street, the building number, the floor and how to get in. If you are locked out without your fob, let a neighbour or the caretaker know so they can open the hall for the locksmith; he then deals with your front door.

I’m moving into a flat near Les Vallées station: should I change the lock?

The simplest thing is to change the cylinder, from €90 incl. VAT: you don’t know how many copies are in circulation, and in these five- and six-storey buildings the landing doors have often kept their original lock, which still works well. Renting? Put the old cylinder away with the invoice: at the check-out inspection, you may be asked to refit it.

Do you also work on houses in the Petite-Garenne and the Plateau?

Yes. A house has several entrances: garden gate, front door, garage door, sometimes a garden door at the back. Tell us which one is causing the problem and send a photo of the lock: the old doors of houses often have a surface-mounted lock, which we repair or replace without changing the door. We also fit high-security locks on these doors.

Do you copy security keys?

Yes, for the main brands: Fichet, Picard, Bricard, Vachette… A protected key is only copied on presentation of the card of ownership. Orders are placed online, on our key copies page.
