Motorising a manual shutter

Cranking a shutter up by hand twice a day ends up wearing out both the shopkeeper’s back and the shutter’s parts. When the shaft and guide rails are in good condition, a motor can be fitted to the existing shutter, with a key switch or a remote control.

Before proposing motorisation, we check the shaft, springs, slats and housing: if a part is too worn, it is better to replace it at the same time. The price depends on the shutter and the power supply available; you receive a written quote before the motor is ordered.

What a motor changes

  • Convenience: the shutter goes up and down in a single movement.
  • Security: key switch or remote control, no crank handle left lying around.
  • Wear: regular, even operation is gentler on the slats and guide rails.

Shopkeepers in the 7th: your shutter questions

Send a photo of the shutter and its housing: we’ll tell you whether motorisation is possible.

Can any manual shutter be motorised?

Not always: the shaft, guide rails and slats must be in good condition, and a power supply must be available near the housing. We check all of this before offering a quote.

What happens in a power cut?

A motorised shutter can be fitted with an emergency manual override, using a crank handle or by disengaging the motor. We show you how to use it when we install it.

The crank handle turns but the shutter won’t move: what should I do?

Stop turning: the winch or angle drive has probably given way. Forcing it could damage the shaft. Call us and we’ll replace the part.

Do you come out on Sundays?

Yes, 24/7, for a jammed shutter as well as to secure premises that can no longer be closed. You approve the amount before the technician starts.
