Shutter locks and floor bolts
On a manual shutter, locking is usually done with a central lock, side bolts or a floor lock that holds the bottom slat. When the key is lost or the mechanism seizes up, the shop can no longer open… or close.
In most cases we open the lock without damaging the shutter, then replace the cylinder or the complete lock, with new keys for the whole team. On a motorised shutter, the key switch is replaced in the same way. The amount is agreed with you before any work starts.

I’ve lost the shutter keys: can you open it without breaking everything?
Yes, in most cases: the lock is opened by picking or by extracting the cylinder, then we fit a new one. If the lock is old and no longer available, we replace it with a standard model.
The floor bolt no longer goes into its housing: what should I do?
Very often, it’s the shutter that no longer comes all the way down, because of a spring or a guide rail. Avoid forcing the bolt: we adjust the shutter first, then the bolt.
Can the lock be replaced with an electric control?
Yes, if the shutter is motorised or if you have it motorised: a key switch or a remote control then replaces the manual lock. We advise you on site.
My former business partner still has a key to the shutter: is that a risk?
Yes, just as with a door: a new cylinder settles the matter, with new keys for those who need to open up. It’s a short job, which we can do outside opening hours.
