Installing a Tedee Pro smart lock for an Airbnb in Paris
This guide goes with our page Smart lock installation in Paris.

For a home let on Airbnb in Paris, a smart lock solves three problems: handing over keys, copies of keys going around, and late arrivals. At La Clé du 16, we install the Tedee PRO for €750 incl. VAT, with the lock, the keypad and the Wi-Fi bridge, fitting and set-up included.
What a smart lock changes for an Airbnb host
- One access per guest: in the app, you create an access valid for the length of the stay, which ends on its own at check-out.
- A code instead of keys: with the keypad, guests get in without a smartphone and without a key handover, even in the middle of the night.
- The entry log: you see who opened the door and when, which also helps organise cleaning and maintenance.
- Remote control: with the Wi-Fi bridge, you lock or unlock the door from anywhere.
- The mechanical key still works: if the battery is flat, the key always opens the door.
How the Tedee PRO works
The Tedee PRO is fitted on the inside on a European cylinder and turns the key for you. It runs on a built-in rechargeable battery: according to Tedee, one charge lasts 6 to 10 months depending on use, and the app warns you when the battery is low. On the landing side nothing changes: the door keeps its cylinder and its lock.
Security: pair it with a certified lock
A smart lock does not replace a good lock: it adds no locking points. For an exposed home, we recommend fitting it on an A2P-certified multipoint lock, such as the Picard Ermétis, 4 points, A2P* certified. We check your lock and your cylinder before fitting.
Installation in Paris
Send us a photo of your lock from the inside on WhatsApp: we tell you whether the Tedee PRO fits your cylinder. On the day, we install the lock, the keypad and the bridge, then set up the app with you. Another option: the Picard Parade 2 replaces the lock with a motorised lock that opens with a code.
All our options are on our smart lock in Paris page.
